About the novel

Stories of the Old Way were like the bedtime fairytales parents would tell their children before sleep. Dreams of wizards and sorcerers conjuring creatures and supernatural forces dazzled their inner fantasies. Great battles, heroes, and villains clashed and echoed in the silent slumbers of children, adults, and even the elderly. But, as with most myths and fables, there hinted threads of truth within those reminiscent days of the Old Way. In fact, people endowed with the powers of the Old Way (which most people disbelieved) actually controlled much of what occurred! Secretly, as the belief the Old Way eroded away from public concern, the remaining few wizards and sorcerers used their cunning to reach stations of high status and power. Their feuds and squabbles remained hidden and unknown to the commoners, who went about their days unaware of the events unfolding around them.

Then, the sorcerer known as Ivindfor, frustrated from the secrecy, feuding, and dispirited nature of their orders and nations created the Children of the Old Way. He desired to show people the true powers the world, while bringing peace and unity to all the nations.

Even with the best laid plans and intentions, the world can be a chaotic and unpredictable place. Arisen is the journey and first chronicle of the Children of the Old Way. These colorful, unique, compelling, and somewhat naïve characters and settings will offer readers amazing dreams long after their books have been closed.
